“Dear colleagues, dear friends,
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Christian Barillot, which occurred this Sunday evening, following an illness, at the age of 60 years.
CNRS research director, Christian was the manager of the Neurinfo platform in Biogenouest, within the Bio-imaging axis. He joined the GIS in 2012.
Since the 80s, Christian has developed pioneering work in the field of three-dimensional (3D) computing applied to medical imaging. In the 90s, he became a leading international scientific figure, notably with his work in the field of brain image analysis. He was director of the Empenn research unit, which corresponds to the word Brain in Breton. Meetings with Christian were always full of humor and humanity.
All our thoughts go naturally to his family and loved ones.
